I. GENERAL POLICY
A. REQUIRED MATERIALS: I highly recommend that students purchase a three-ring binder with CD inserts for the printed and recorded materials that are provided. Please bring ALL of these materials, along with appropriate music CDs to your lessons!! Having these items with you is AS IMPORTANT as having your guitar, and is vital to your progress towards becoming a better guitarist.
B. LESSON TIMES: Weekly lessons last for 30 minutes, STARTING PROMPTLY at the scheduled time. PLEASE NOTE - if you are late, your lesson will still end at the designated time; however, if I am running late, you are guaranteed your entire lesson time.
C. PRACTICE: It is recommend that you spend at least 30 minutes per day practicing the materials that I assign to you each week. This will help improve your dexterity and strength, both of which are vital to becoming a better guitarist.
II. PAYMENT POLICY (please direct questions to Susanne!)
Weekly 30-minute sessions are $85 per month (cash preferred - NO credit cards), due at the lesson that lands on the week of the 1st of that month ...
A. Billing reminders will be sent out via email before the payments are due.
B. If you miss that payment lesson, I request that you still bring it in within two business days of that lesson. Please call me in advance to arrange for this.
C. A LATE FEE OF $5 will be strictly applied to ALL accounts that are left unpaid after the payment lesson, excluding item #IIB above, in which case a late fee will be applied if the account is still unpaid on the third business day. Absolutely NO exceptions are allowed!
D. Your monthly payment may be reduced ONLY during the summer months and the Xmas holiday season if you are planning a vacation of two weeks or more, and only if make-up lessons are not possible. ALSO NOTE that to be eligible for these types of make-up lessons or discounts, you must let me know about them ONE MONTH IN ADVANCE!
E. SPECIAL REFERRAL DISCOUNT AVAILABLE - if you refer someone to Jesse Seales Guitar Instruction and they end up taking lessons, $20 will be taken off of your bill for the month following the month they start. So make sure they let me know that you referred them - or call me directly and give me their name(s)!
III. MAKE-UP LESSON POLICY
A. THE FOLLOWING ABSENCES ARE ELIGIBLE FOR MAKE-UP LESSONS:
1. Absences due to illness/accidents or family/work-related emergencies. I will reschedule these on a make-up day at some point during the month or month following (guaranteed), or if there is an opening that week, which will accommodate your schedule (not guaranteed). Please call 360-920-0832 when canceling for these reasons, and arrange a make-up lesson at that time or later. Please note that if work-related emergencies become a habit, I will work to place your lesson on a day/time that fits with your scheduling needs. And please be aware that if you cancel your make-up lesson for ANY reason at the last minute, I will not offer you another time slot!!
2. Pre-planned absences for doctor’s appointments (excluding emergencies), school/work-related trips, or short vacations (no more than one week long) that are arranged TWO WEEKS IN ADVANCE, and summer/Xmas vacations (two weeks or more) that are arranged ONE MONTH IN ADVANCE. I will reschedule these on a make-up day during the month or month following. And again, please be aware that if you cancel your make-up lesson for ANY reason at the last minute, I will not offer you another time slot!!
B. THE FOLLOWING ABSENCES ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR MAKE-UP LESSONS:
ALL OTHER LAST MINUTE CANCELLATIONS, including those described in item #A2 above that are not arranged in the required amount of time in advance. If you call at the last minute for any reason other than those described in item #A1 above, you will forfeit that lesson and WILL NOT be offered a make-up lesson. Absolutely NO exceptions allowed!
C. IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING QUITTING ... PLEASE READ!!:
I am now requesting that people give me ONE MONTH'S NOTICE prior to quitting. Although I understand that this is not always possible, it seems reasonable to request this courtesy in most instances. Thank you!
